Family and friends bid final goodbye to late Goma Air pilot Manadhar

Family and friends attended the funeral ceremony of late Goma Air pilot Shreejan Manandhar who passed away in a tragic incident of Goma Air’s LET 410 aircraft in Lukla Airport past Saturday. Pilot Manandhar was announced death on Saturday eight hours later from the crash time at Lukla and his death body was airlifted to Kathmandu on Sunday by a helicopter. The body was handed to Teaching Hospital for the post mortem.

As been reported, the lack of proper in time medical treatment had caused Manandhar death. He was suffering from continues eight hours of internal bleeding before his death. Adverse weather conditions at Lukla had made it difficult for the aircraft to reach Shreejan for his rescue.

Family members along with friends and relatives were gathered to bid their last goodbye to late pilot Manandhar at Pashupati temple this evening. Pilot Shreejan Manandhar had operated the cockpit for 1200 hours and was a permanent resident of Maru-23, Kathmandu but was temporarily living in Kalanki. He was born on April 04 1990 and was the elder son of Captain Rajan Kumar Manandhar. According to the official from Goma Air, he had gained 1000 hours of flying experience in LET-410 aircraft by 30 April this year and had joined the airlines from 25 August 2015.

Captain Paras Kumar Rai and Pilot Shreejan Manandhar were flying a cargo flight when the LET-410 aircraft crashed before the landing. Three crew members were on board on the cargo aircraft. Both the pilots lost their lives after the crash but hostess Pragya Manandhar was rescued safely from the crash site.
