Currently, the locals at Bajhang are facing transportation problems following the repeated obstruction of only one highway connecting the district. The constitutional representatives from the district have urged to re-operate Bajhang Airport soon. Previously, the locals and the authorities frequently requested to operate the airport but there was no any concern.

The roadway to Kailash Mansarovar (a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus) is comfortable from Bajhang and also covers short distance. So, the authorities from Bajhang quotes the operation of airport is necessary. At present, Simikot Airport is handling all the flight pressures building up due to the increasing number of travellers for Kailash Mansarovar Trek.

According to the local authorities, the blacktopping of Bajhang Airport will attract private airline operators and enhance the standard of flight operation.
