The museum was made by restoring Airbus 330-300 of Turkish airways that suffered a runway excursion event back in March 2015 which was dismantled and reassembled in Sinamangal as a joint project between ‘the Bed Upreti Trust’ and ‘Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)’ at a cost of 70 million Rupees. The museum consists of displays of various miniatures aircraft and information about the history of aviation in cabin of the aircraft. The museum employs 25 staffs and the guides wear flight attendant uniforms.
“I am excited to announce that the museum is now open to public from Tuesday, and want to especially thank the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and Turkish Airlines for their support” says Captain Bed Upreti.
Students from Grade 9-12 from all over Nepal can enter the museum free if they have a letter endorsing visit from their schools with their school IDs. One teacher accompanying 15 students of any grades will also have free entry. All students with IDs get 50% off on ticket.
