CAA Nepal directs domestic flight suspension extended till April 30

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal issuing a notice stated on Tuesday that all domestic flights within Nepal will remain suspended until April 30.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers took a decision to this effect as per the recommendation of the High-Level COVID-19 prevention and control committee.

Likewise, the meeting decided to halt the mobility of people across the porous border between Nepal and India until April 30.

The cabinet also decided to suspend international flights until April 30 to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.

All government services other than essential have been shut down, domestic and international flights have been suspended and people’s movement has been restricted across the country. The country went into lockdown since March 24.

The CAA Nepal circulated notice stated that there would not be any effect on rescue flight operations and flight-related to medical and any other essential suppliers during nation lockdown are being carried out by private operators.
According to COVID Crisis Management Operation Center (CCMC), it has been informed all the private helicopter operators to incessantly operate the helicopter in Government Missions and keep their aircraft standby all the time.
