Congestion of container trucks led to the road block in Airport Area
Airport road (Tinkune-Sinamangal) remained blocked on Monday between 10am to 1pm when hundreds of container trucks filled with Chinese goods, arrived Kathmandu valley from Khasa region concurrently. After the devastating earthquake on April 25th, the containers packed with the toys, shoes and other summer apparels dispatched from China remained stuck in border regions of Khasa. Chief of Custom Department, Shishir Dhungana stated that, the custom checks that used to be carried out in Khasa, will be carried out from the TIA Customs from now on until the next fitting alternative comes up. Therefore, the congestion’s of the container trucks waiting for their respective checks, led to the road block which is slowly being cleared off.
