Emirates Airlines, a major Gulf carrier and premier partner of Dubai Expo 2020, has revealed a striking flying invitation card to promote the mega event Dubai Expo 2020. The airline exposed a full-fuselage A380 livery featuring large-scale graphics in vivid green, pink, purple, and red with bright blue as the predominant color. The combination of these colors running across A380’s fuselage with messages ‘Dubai Expo’ and ‘Be part of the Magic’ gives a distinctive appearance to the livery apart from the airline’s conventional white and gold paint scheme. This brashest paint scheme displays the ring-shaped logo of Dubai Expo 2020 interlacing the aircraft’s tail and fin.
Emirates’ A380 fresh livery will promote the global event worldwide as its engine cowls also display Expo 2020 messages and the event dates such as October 2021, March 2022, etc.
The new special livery on A380 aircraft
The new livery completely stripes out Emirates’ usual branding and showcases Burj Khalifa stuntwoman dressed in an Emirates cabin crew uniform holding an invitation with a message board saying ‘See you there’ and ‘Dubai Expo-Oct-Mar-2022).

The eight-year-old Airbus A380 registered as A6-EEU will inaugurate its maiden flight in new livery from Dubai to Los Angeles on September 29, giving a chance for plane spotters to witness the new bold look adorned with splash of 11 different colors in a careful, methodically sequenced manner.
The new A380 livery required over 2500 sq.m of tracing and masking material, taking 16 days and 4379 man-hours to complete the project. Everything from nose-to-tail paint is real, while the aircraft hoods and image of stuntwoman holding bulletin boards are decals. The Emirates Engineering Aircraft Appearance Teams are responsible for embarking on and execute the distinctive design of livery flawlessly refining the contours, masking to switch design into a 3D airplane, and using an array of wild spray methods electrostatic spray guns and conventional cup guns to intricate the colors.
Emirates will feature its bold new Expo 2020 Dubai livery on three of its A380 aircraft to increase visibility and awareness of the event.
Emirates’ history of special liveries
Emirates Airlines has always been known for iconic special liveries on its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 when it painted 40 aircraft to gear up Expo in 2017. Emirates teams have designed, painted, and revived nearly 50 unique designs and 100 liveries in the last five years. Such liveries showcase airline’s tribute and legacy continuation of late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, spread awareness on illegal wildlife trade or message of tolerance and multi-culturalism.
The new eye-catching paintwork and decals on Airbus A380 will surely turn heads and raise the eyebrows of many people. It will join 40 other special livery airplanes dedicate to carry Expo’s message worldwide.
The boldest Expo 2020 special livery to date will reaffirm the theme of this global event that is the first-ever Expo to be held in the Middle East, demonstrating a wide range of theme weeks, entertainment, edutainment, exhibitions, live shows, and pavilion focused on future of commercial aviation. The program will run for a period of 6 months, from October 2021 to March 2022.
