Helicopter crash in Aarey Colony leaves one dead, three injured

December 11, 2016-MUMBAI

A Robinson R44 Astro-model helicopter crashes near Aarey Colony located at Mumbai’s Goregaon East suburb today. The crash took place near Royal Palms in an area known as Fitler Pada causing a fatality and other injuries to other three people on board. The injured individuals have been rushed to Seven Hills hospital.

As per the officials, the helicopter was carrying four people on board along with two crew members and two passengers. The crash is believed to have taken place at 11.30 am though the fire brigade received the emergency call at 12.19 pm only, according to Mumbai Fire Chief Rahangdale.

Out of the four, one was declared dead upon the arrival at hospital due to widespread burn and shock.

According to hospital superintendent Dr. Raj Karva, out of the three survivors one of the male passengers is in the grave condition due to the multiple chest and head injuries. Another female occupant has 35 percent of burns with consciousness and third male has suffered some fractures to his hand, but is in stable condition.

Five fire trucks were quick to the spot and respond to the emergency and by 1.20 pm the fire had been extinguished.
