NAC decides to send off the Boeing 757, Karnali through bidding

NOVEMBER 9, 2016-KATHMANDU

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be sending off its twenty nine years old Boeing 757 through a bidding. NAC has recently hired a appraiser from Switzerland to make a valuation of the aircraft and the appraiser is scheduled to arrive Nepal in two to three days.

The Karnali, with a registration number 9N-ACA, will be retired first after the report by the appraiser. NAC will then call for bidding to trade the jet. The managementโ€™s decision to sell off the jets was already decided by the NAC board.

The 9N-ACA arrived in Nepal in 1987 and made its first flight on August 20. The jet flew displaying the national flag at world airports long-haul routes. The Boeing 757 is a mid-sized, narrow-body twin-engine jet airliner built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes with capacity for 190 passengers. It was in production from 1981 to 2004.
