NAC decides to send off the Boeing 757, Karnali through bidding

NOVEMBER 9, 2016-KATHMANDU

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be sending off its twenty nine years old Boeing 757 through a bidding. NAC has recently hired a appraiser from Switzerland to make a valuation of the aircraft and the appraiser is scheduled to arrive Nepal in two to three days.

The Karnali, with a registration number 9N-ACA, will be retired first after the report by the appraiser. NAC will then call for bidding to trade the jet. The management’s decision to sell off the jets was already decided by the NAC board.

The 9N-ACA arrived in Nepal in 1987 and made its first flight on August 20. The jet flew displaying the national flag at world airports long-haul routes. The Boeing 757 is a mid-sized, narrow-body twin-engine jet airliner built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes with capacity for 190 passengers. It was in production from 1981 to 2004.
