NAC requests government to provide ATF at reasonable price

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has requested government to provide various facility for its economy enhancement. The national flag carrier has already appealed the government to increase paid up capital as two newly brought wide-body aircraft have already started flight operations. Now, the corporation has asked the government to provide Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) at reasonable price.

Executive chairman of NAC Mr. Madan Kharel has requested government to provide ATF at reasonable price in order to make the state owned flag carrier competent. Mr. Kharel insisted that the flights can be conducted at the reasonable price if the ATF which holds 30 per cent of the total expenditure can be obtained at reasonable price.

He also said that the government must take this request into keen consideration so that the national flag carrier can be more competitive and can increase international market share.

The market share of the corporation has fallen by nearly two percent in one year period. According to the corporation, the market share fell by 1.8 percent in 074/75 compared to the financial year 2073/74.

The corporation has decided to increase the market by new market management strategy. The corporation has also witnessed decline in ‘Seat Factor’ in the past months of August and September.

Currently, NAC is conducting international flights with 2 wide body Airbus A330s, 2 Airbus 320s and a Boeing 757 and domestic flights with 4 Harbin Y-12e, 2 MA-60 and 2 Twin-otter.
