Nepal Airlines both wide-body aircraft flying to China Today

Both of the wide-body aircraft Airbus A330s of National Flag Carrier have been scheduled to fly to Guangzhou, China today evening for cargo flight. The aircraft will be flying to China for bringing the medical supplies to Nepal for battling the Corona Virus in Nepal.

The aircraft has been chartered by private firms ‘Flash Freight’ and ‘Shangrila Freight’. Aircraft of Nepal Airlines has been widely used for the passenger evacuation and cargo flights after the lockdown and ban on the scheduled flights. The first flight RA4173 will take off at 5:45 PM and the second one RA4171 will take off 10 minutes later at 5:55 PM from Kathmandu today.

The pilots for one aircraft is composed of Capt. Vijay Lama, Capt. Javed Chaudhury, FO Bhogendra Kathayat, F/O Raman Ghimire and the other aircraft is Capt. James Edward Keep, Capt. Uday Manohar Kaltokar, F/O Arpit Shrestha, F/O Jiwesh Lama.

A Similar chartered flight of wide-body was made by Nepal Government to bring the medical support before a couple of weeks for the same purpose of battling the Corona Virus. However, other flights have canceled after a dispute in the procurement process of the medical supplies was discovered inside the government regarding the embezzlement and import of low-quality items.

All the domestic and international flights have been banned till April 30 by the Civil Aviation Authority. However, the few passenger evacuation flights and medical and food supplies flights are being conducted with special permission granted by the authority.
