Nepal Airlines Corporation has postponed its charter flight to Afghanistan. The corporation has stated that the charter flight scheduled to take place on August 26 has been postponed for the time being due to the deteriorating environment in Kabul.
The Dubai-based company booked the charter flight. The corporation had stated that the booking was made to bring Nepalis who went to Afghanistan for employment through the company.
The situation in Afghanistan is uneasy after the Taliban took control. The government, however, is not preparing to send an aircraft to rescue Nepalis in Afghanistan. The corporation has stated that it has not received any proposal from the government for the Kabul flight. The corporation had planned to fly to Kabul as soon as the Company of Dubai booked the flight.
One hundred Nepalis were said to be repatriated through the flight. The corporation’s aircraft has already made charter flights to Afghanistan a few years ago to collect the body of a Nepali who died in a terrorist attack.
