Nepalese Aviation progressive to be removed from the EU blacklist

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has expressed satisfaction over Nepal’s air safety. Regional director of the organization Mr. Arun Mishra expressed satisfaction in the progress Nepal has made in safety and security in aviation and showed a positive feedback on Government’s initiative to separate operational and regulatory mechanism.

In the official tweet by Tourism Ministry of Nepal (MoCTCA), it has been stated that the regional director Mr. Mishra had expressed the satisfaction over recent progress made by the Nepalese Aviation in safety and security in a meeting with the Honorable Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari Yesterday (November 14) at Singhadurbar.

Around a month back a team from Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation led by Hon. Minister Rabindra Adhikari and International Civil Aviation organization (ICAO) team held a meeting to discuss the progress made by Nepal’s aviation sector. In the meeting with ICAO former Secretary General Mr. Raymond Benjamin, Airbus Sr. Vice-President (Safety) Mr. Yannick Malinge, the inspectors had expressed happiness over improved aviation status of Nepal and Minister Adhikari had urged to remove Nepal from Air safety Black list of European Union (EU).

In the very previous meeting, the team also had shown possibility of Nepal being removed from EU black list by this month and the recent positive expression by ICAO regional director has increased its possibility to more extent.

Minister Adhikari and other delegates held meeting yesterday with the regional director Mr. Mishra and Mishra was also contended about Government’s initiation in safety and security of Aviation sector in the country.
