Shree Airline’s chopper brought to KTM through sling operation

AS 350 B3e helicopter of Shree Airlines was brought to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) by another helicopter through sling operation this morning.

Mi-17 chopper of Shree Airlines operated sling operation from Lukla Airport to Kathmandu.

The helicopter was damaged after it collided with the aircraft of Summit Air on April 18 (Baisakh 5) at Lukla Airport .

Generally, sling operations are operated at rural area with cargo mission. It helps to transport foods and important equipment required for development project .

Summit Air Let L410 with registration ‘9N-AMH’ skidded to the right just after moving forward for takeoff from Lukla and collided with Manang Air helicopter incurring serious damage to both the aircraft where the rotating main rotor blades of manang air chopper hit the skid and bottom part of Shree helicopter parked just next to it in the helipad.

The collision damaged the Shree Airlines chopper also. The copilot of Summit Air along with 2 police personnel died in the incident while others were injured. The CCTV footage of the crash has already been published in the social media and necessary investigation is going on.
