Aeroflot received an Airbus A350-941 registered as VP-BXD. The Airbus A350-941 MSN 429 departed Toulouse for a three-and-a-half-hour flight to Moscow on July 1. According to flightradar24, the aircraft arrived at Sheremetyevo – A.S. Pushkin international airport at 00:32 local time on July 2.

Aeroflot placed an order for 11 A350s with the expectation of receiving them by the end of 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the delivery has been delayed. Aeroflot is flying A350 flights between Moscow and Osaka, Japan, and Singapore. Additionally, the Russian flag carrier flying A350 widebody on major routes such as Delhi, London, New York, Miami, and Tel Aviv.
VP-BXD
On December 18, 2020, Aeroflot’s Airbus A350 made its first flight under the test registration F-WZNE. The airplane is named “I. Knoev.” Ivan Stepanovich Konev (I. Knoev) was a Soviet general and Marshal during World War II and commanded the Red Army troops on the Eastern Front.
Customer Acceptance flight for VP-BXD conducted on February 2, 2021. On May 17, an aircraft from Toulouse was ferried to Chateauroux Airport for storage. The plane was transported back to Toulouse for delivery and departed from France on July 1, 2021, with the AFL7697 flight number.
First A350-900
Aeroflot takes possession of the first A350-900 on February 28, 2020, from Toulouse.
The first A350 of Aeroflot was nicknamed to musician Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
The new aircraft bolsters the Russian flag carrier’s key transit destinations between Europe and North America, and Asia. Aeroflot’s hub at Sheremetyevo provides easy and quick East-West transit alternatives, with total journey durations up to three hours less than those of rivals in Europe and Asia.
Seating arrangement and interior
Aeroflot’s A350 has a large three-class cabin comprising 316 seats: 28 private business class Suites with 2-metre full-flat bed; 24 Comfortable economy seating with more space; and 264 Economy class seats. The Amenities set a new standard for business class comfort, rivaling most significant airlines’ first-class cabins. Along with a high level of confidentiality and private space, the Suites feature a 54-inch flat-screen television. Additionally, the Business class cabin has a bar with a wide selection of beverages and food.
The A350 has an innovative lighting system that changes color depending on the flight’s stage. Along with the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment unit, HD displays and Wi-Fi connection would improve the customer experience on long-haul flights. Leg space and seating pitch are enhanced in the Economy and Luxury classes. The large interior decreased noise and adaptable lighting all contribute to the aircraft’s pleasant environment.
Commemorating one year of A350 operation
On February 29, 2020, Aeroflot celebrated one year of operating the Airbus A350-900. The Moscow-based carrier received possession of its first A350 from Toulouse on February 28, 2020.

Aeroflot, Russia’s national airline, got its first Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft in late May.
The airline’s first A320neo plane left Airbus’ Toulouse manufacturing facility on May 18, while the airline’s first A321neo plane flew from Hamburg on May 28.
