The nation witnessed all flights cancellation the first time in history due to the Corona virus outbreak. All domestic flights are be closed for one week from today (Tuesday). The government has decided to shut down domestic flights for a week as a way to avoid the high risk of the corona virus, keeping in view the situation caused by the spread of the corona virus worldwide.
The Corona Prevention High-Level Committee meeting in the capital on Monday decided to close the airline for one week from Tuesday. The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has said that it has decided to close all domestic commercial flights except the airline and designated flights used by the security agencies.
Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Information Officer Trilochan Poudel said the government had decided to shut down the domestic flight only after a woman on Monday confirmed that the coronavirus was infected.
Authorities have said that the domestic airline will be closed following the government’s directive that a high risk of coronavirus infection is pervading worldwide. According to the government’s decision, domestic air tickets booked for Tuesday will be canceled.
The authority has also decided to direct the concerned airline company to give a free refund.
