Country’s sole international airport Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is setting up international level security check for domestic flights. TIA changed the security check process to avoid threats and dangers towards the sole international airport as well as to passengers.

The new security check post has been installed at domestic terminal Golden Gate entry point. TIA management and officials stated that the modern security check post was installed to make effective security at the airport.

Previously there was only security check inside of the domestic terminal and now the security check has been installed at outside also.

The new security check post will have pass reader, luggage x-ray, walk through x-ray etc. stated airport officials. The new security system will mitigate the need of manual security check from the police officers.

Before, luggage and body of the passengers used to be checked manually by hand by security personnel.
