Tourism organization and stakeholders worried over NAC wide-body

Around dozens of tourism based organizations and stakeholders have showed concern over various rumors and conflicts over national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and wide-body purchase procurement by NAC.

The organizations jointly released press statement and have appealed concerned authority to make favorable environment for operation of the newly bought wide-body Airbus A330 by NAC and requested to end the conflict about the wide-body.

The Organizations including Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agent (NATTA), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), Pacific Asia Travel Association PATA Nepal Chapter, Himalaya Rescue Association, Village Tourism Promotional Forum, Nepal Tourism Transportation Entrepreneurs and others have shown their concern on this issue by stating that the news of bringing Wide-body had made them happy however, conflict on purchase procedure that followed immediately had worried them a lot as it will make impact on national organizations during upcoming Visit Nepal 2020.

The statement also specified that new aircraft of the flag carrier have entered in country after a long time however bringing the airline into conflict by not letting the aircraft fly and other for the sake of others greed will let country’s whole tourism sector to fall.

Government has announced their target of inviting 2 million tourists in year 2020 and in this time such type of cases will effect in national tourism sector rather investigate on the topic and punish if any wrong doing is found out and asked to focus on making flag carrier to operate on full-fledge by adding new aircraft to its fleet stated the press release.

They have also warned that such cases might reoccur frequently and stated concerned authority to timely check on such cases and also stated to make the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign successful.
